A total of 258 entries were made in the 2014 World Poker Tour Jacksonville bestbet Open. building a $825,600 prize pool. From that mass of players now only six remain to battle it out for the title and the first-place prize of $206,041.
The chip leader heading into the final day Nabil Hirezi with 2,792,000. Second in chips is recent WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open main event champion James Calderaro with 1,916,000. He topped a field of 415 players in that event in early February, winning $271,103 for his first WPT main event title. Two-time prior WPT final tablist Faraz Jaka has now made his third, coming into the final day with 542,000.
The final table was set when Bryan Irish-Jones was sent to the rail in seventh place. Hirezi min-raised to 32,000 in early position and Irish-Jones moved all-in for 260,000. Hirezi made the call with the KJ which was behind Irish-Jones’ AQ. The board ran out KJJK5, giving Hirezi an overflowing full house and sending Irish-Jones to the rail on the final table bubble with $31,760.
Other notables who made deep runs in this event include two-time WPT runner-up in 2014 Dylan Wilkerson (19th – $8,507), Dan Heimiller (18th – $9,722), Jason Mercier (16th – $9,722), John Racener (13th – $11,424) and 2013 WPT bestbet Jaconsonville Fall Poker Scramble_ main event champion Jared Jafee (12th – $13,935).
