Poker legend Phil Hellmuth, winner of 13 World Series of Poker bracelets, has decided to give his latest one away to California venture capitalist and NBA owner Chamath Palihapitiya, who Hellmuth says is his “best friend.”
Both call Palo Alto, California home.
According to Hellmuth, it was the first of his bracelets he didn’t give away to family or keep for himself. Altogether, 11 of them have been given away.
Palihapitiya, who played in the $1 million buy-in at the WSOP in 2012, owns part of the Golden State Warriors and is a former executive at Facebook.
