In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. NEVADA
- The 2014 Deepstack Extravaganza II (Mar 27, ‘14 – Apr 23, ’14) The Venetian Las Vegas’ 52-event Deepstack Extravaganza II tournament series began in late March and is now approaching the climax of whole affair, with the $1,100 buy-in $300,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em main event set to begin on Apr. 19th at noon. There will be a second starting flight at 6:00 PM that evening, and a third and final flight at noon.
FLORIDA
- The 2014 World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown (Mar 27, ‘14 – Apr 16, ’14) The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown got underway late in March, with the $5 million guaranteed World Poker Tour main event having begun on Apr. 10th. Registration is closed in that huge tournament, but there are still a number of tournaments on offer in including a $50,000 guaranteed $200 buy-in no-limit hold’em event that begins at noon on Apr. 16th.
INTERNATIONAL
- The 2014 EPT San Remo (Apr 10, ‘14 – Apr 20, ’14) The 43-event European Poker Tour San Remo series continues this week, with the centerpiece of the whole affair being the €4,900 no-limit hold’em main event that gets underway at noon on Apr. 14th with the first of two starting days. There will also be a €10,300 no-limit hold’em high roller beginning at noon on Apr. 18th.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2014 Liz Flynt Spring Poker Classic (Apr 05, ‘14 – Apr 30, ’14) The Hustler Casino in Gardena, California is hosting a series of 14 tournaments, each of which features a guaranteed prize pool. The highlight of the whole affair is the $500,000 guaranteed $160 buy-in no-limit hold’em re-entry event that kicked off on the first of 15 starting flights at 12:30 PM on Apr. 12th and continue kicking off on Apr. 21. Click here for a look at the schedule of starting flights. The survivors of all of those starting flights will return on Apr. 22nd to play down to a champion.
- The 2014 Spring Poker Round Up (Apr 10, ‘14 – Apr 20, ’14) Pendleton, Oregon’s Wildhorse Resort Casino hosts the latest running of it’s Spring Poker Round Up which began last week. The highlight of the series is the $2,000 no-limit hold’em event which begins at Apr. 16th at noon.
EAST COAST
- The" 2014 WPT World Championship":http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-tournaments/4437-2014-wpt-world-championship (Apr 08, ‘14 – Apr 26, ’14) For the first time in the history of the tour the WPT Championship will not be played at the Bellagio this year, but instead has moved to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The $15,400 main even won’t take place until next week, meanwhile this week’s highlight is a $2,700 buy-in $1,000,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em event.
- The 2014 Pittsburgh Poker Open Spring Series (Apr 10, ‘14 – Apr 21, ’14) The Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania continues with it’s huge 24-event tournament series this week, with the highlight being the $1,100 buy-in $100,000 guaranteed main event, which gets underway with the first of two starting days at noon on Apr. 18th.
MIDWEST
- The 2014 WSOP Circuit Council Bluffs (Apr 10, ’14 – Apr 21, ’14) The Horseshoe Casino & Hotel-Council Bluffs in Iowa is the current stop on the final stretch of this season of the WSOP Circuit tour. The series got underway last week, but the centerpiece $1,675 WSOP Circuit no-limit main event is set to begin with the first of two starting days at noon on Apr. 19th.
