Fighting with Steve Wynn in his own casino probably isn’t too great of an idea.

The billionaire casino boss and actor George Clooney had dinner a couple of weeks ago to discuss some business, but the evening reportedly ended in a heated exchange.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the two men were talking about politics and got into it after Wynn, Clooney said, criticized President Obama and his policies. Wynn is known for being a staunch Republican, while Clooney is a Democrat.

Clooney eventually stormed out of the dinner, calling Wynn “an asshole,” the report said.

Wynn had a slightly different account of what was said prior to Clooney storming off, but it’s clear it was centered around American politics. Wynn told the Review-Journal that “when [Clooney]’s drinking, he considers himself a close personal buddy of the president.”

The 72-year-old Wynn added: “Clooney’s fun to be with when he’s sober. If you have a chance to drink with him, you want to get there early, and don’t stay late.”

The dinner was with some other business executives, including Clooney’s business partners, and Wynn said they were “mortified” at the incident. Clooney was at the casino-hotel to promote his Casamigos tequila during the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America convention.

Wynn said that Clooney went to another bar after leaving their dinner.
