The European Poker Tour is becoming so popular that two more events have been added to its schedule for season three in the last month. Both new events will take place in March.

The new events in Poland and Germany bring the number of EPT events in its third season to nine. In its third season, the World Poker Tour held 12 open tournaments and a handful of invitationals.

Season three of the EPT started in September with the Barcelona Open, and will end on April Fool's Day with the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. In between, the tour stopped or will stop in England, Austria, Denmark, France, Ireland, and now Germany and Poland.

Each event has been filled close to capacity for this season (directors cap events generally at 400 or 500 players). So far, more than €7.5 million has been given away throughout four events (that's approximately $9.8 million). The buy-ins for the event were all €5,000, and 1,598 buy-ins were recorded.

The two new events take place at Casino Hohensyburg in Dortmund, Germany, from March 8 to 11 (which was announced here at CardPlayer.com two weeks ago), and at the Hyatt Regency, in Warsaw, Poland, from March 14 to 17.

Unless the EPT adds another event to its schedule, four events remain. They are: the French Open at Deauville Casino from Feb. 20-24; EPT Dortmund (the new German event); EPT Warsaw (new Poland event); and the EPT Grand Final at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel March 28 to April 1.

Many pros whom Americans would know through Card Player and television shows play in the events, including Gus Hansen, Joe Hachem, and Isabelle Mercier. Roland De Wolfe became the first person to win both a EPT and WPT event in October after taking down the Dublin Open. He won the WPT Grand Prix de Paris in 2005.
