PokerStars.com yesterday confirmed the departure of long-time pro Isabelle Mercier. The French Canadian player, who won the World Poker Tour Ladies Night II in 2004, had been with PokerStars for five years and is moving on to “take on new projects”.
However, things do not stay static in the world of high-stakes poker for long and the company also announced it has signed Dutch international hockey player Fatima Moreira De Malo to Team PokerStars Pro.
De Malo is a world and Olympic champion as well as enjoying careers in TV, as a singer and is the current Rotterdam Sportswoman of the Year.
