After four days of play, the World Series of Poker $50,000 Poker Players Championship has reached the (unofficial) final table. Only eight players remain to battle it out for a bracelet, the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy and the $1,517,767 first-place prize.

A total of 22 players started penultimate day of action, but only 14 would make the money. Vladimir Shchemelev, Ola Amundsgard, David Oppenheim, David Steicke, Gary Benson, Jason Mercier and Brock Parker all busted to put the players on the bubble.

The bubble lasted for almost two hours before a hand of stud eight-or-better sent Elior Sion to the rail. Sion called all in on seventh street only to see that his opponent, overnight chip leader Brandon Shack-Harris, had made a full house.

Shack-Harris, the breakout star of the 2014 WSOP, has 4,101,000 going into the final table and can overtake George Danzer as the WSOP Player of the Year with another strong performance.

Melissa BurrSo far this summer, he won his first bracelet in the $1,000 pot-limit Omaha event for $205,634. Then he finished second in the $10,000 razz event, pocketing $182,155. Just last week, he took third in the $1,500 limit hold’em event, banking another $78,335. Shack-Harris and the rest of the final table are already guaranteed at least $134,101.

Although Shack-Harris is in the driver’s seat, Melissa Burr has already made history by becoming the first female to ever cash in the Poker Players Championship. This is Burr’s fourth deep run at this summer’s WSOP, having previously finished eighth in the $10,000 Omaha eight-or-better event, fifth in the $1,500 stud eight-or-better event and ninth in the $1,500 dealer’s choice event.

Another interesting story to watch at the final table is the play of high-stakes mixed game player Abe Mosseri, who reportedly has upwards of $900,000 in side-bets to collect on should he win the tournament. A victory could net the New York pro almost $2.5 million.

Play will resume Thursday at 2 p.m. local time. You can watch the action with the WSOP live stream on a slight delay.

Here is a look at the overnight chip counts.
