The final $1,500 no-limit hold’em event of the 2014 World Series of Poker produced another huge turnout when 2,563 players entered creating a total prize pool of $3,460,050.
It took four days of play to determine a champion, but in the end, it was Pembroke Pines, Florida resident Salman Jaddi who earned the win, the bracelet and the first-place prize of $614,248.
This was Jaddi’s best tournament finish by far. His previous biggest cash was for just over $37,000. The amateur player owns his own IT management and consulting business.
“It’s a story for all amateurs,” he said. “I’m a business owner. I love playing the game of poker. Anyone has a shot to win this thing.”
Other notables at the final table included Brandon Hall (2nd), Zach Gruneberg (3rd), Cherish Andrews (5th), Steve Sung (8th) and Kurt Jewell (9th).
