KSLA.com reported that a Louisiana man, who happened to be a 91-year-old WWII veteran, was beaten and robbed of his casino winnings early Thursday morning.
The man is recovering from non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital, the report said.
The two alleged attacker are in jail. John Perkins, 39, and Gary Smith, 60, both of Shreveport, Louisiana have been charged with second-degree robbery at Eldorado Casino.
The report provided more details on the attack:
Police say the men followed the man to a restroom, beat and robbed him of a portion of his winnings and fled on foot. They say the victim managed to injure one of the suspects during the assault. After searching downtown, police located the men […] and were able to link the men to the robbery.
The name of the victim and the amount of money involved haven’t yet been disclosed.
