As the South Korean government looks to curb online casino games, especially for those it deems to be too young, on Aug. 29, Candy Crush Saga, FarmVille, Zynga Poker and all other games on Facebook ceased functioning in the country, VentureBeat reported.

The move is seen as an enforcement of the 2013 Game Industry Promotion Act, which established a legally binding age-appropriateness rating system.

Games makers will eventually have the chance to get their games back up on Facebook in South Korea if they submit the software to the ratings board, according to the report.

Social casino games on Facebook, although they don’t allow real-money betting, do allow players to buy digital chips and other add-ons for the game experience.

The news came just days before Zynga Poker announced that it was unvieling a complete redesign of its product, also available in the App Store and Google Play. Since Zynga Poker launched in 2007, an estimated 100 billion hands of poker have been played in the game.

Games on Facebook account for a large chunk of the site’s revenue.
