Card Player Poker Tour: Osmin "Oddie" Dardon Leads Bicycle Casino Main Event on Day 2Players Can Buy In On Day 2 for $4,000 |
|
Osmin “Oddie” Dardon will return on day 2 of the Card Player Poker Tour Bicycle Casino main event with a commanding chip lead over the rest of the field. Dardon amassed a massive stack of 520,000 by the time the tournament clock ran out on day 1c and will return with nearly 200,000 more than his closest opponent.
A combined total of 471 players took to the felt over the course of three day 1s and while the preliminary days have come to an end, players still have a chance to register for the main event if they wish. Due to the Bicycle’s unique and patented Quantum Reload structure, players can buy in on day 2 for $4,000 and receive an average stack to start the day. However, there will be no late registration for those wishing to buy in on day 2.
Players of note who showed up for the third and final day 1 included Owen Crowe, who finished 15th in the 2008 World Series of Poker main event and 5th in the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event and Garrett Greer, who finished 7th in the 2013 $10,000 L.A. Poker Classic main event and 6th in the 2014 World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star main event.
Defending champion Thomas Beckstead was also in the field. In 2013 Beckstead won over $102,000 during the Bicycle main event. Card Player’s own Barry and Allyn Shulman, WSOP bracelet winner Steve Sung, CPPT Atlantis champion Erkut Yilmaz and former WPT Player of the Year Matt Salsberg were in the field as well.
Allyn Shulman and Yilmaz, both former CPPT champions, will have a chance to become the first person in the tour’s history to win two titles when they return for day 2. Shulman won the Venetian main event for over $293,000 during Season I and Yilmaz picked up the title and more than $42,000 at the Atlantis Casino Resort main event in Reno in March of 2014.
Other players who will open up their chip bags on day 2 include former WPT champion Josh Hale, Chris DeMaci, former Bicycle Mega Millions winner Dave Banerjee and WSOP Circuit ring winner Cord Garcia.
Day 2 will begin at 1 pm, complete with live updates of all the action on CardPlayer.com.
*single table $420 satellites to day 2 will begin running at 11am Tuesday
