With six events in the books, the inaugural Card Player Poker Tour Hollywood Park Casino Westside Poker Championship main event is about to begin.
The $340 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee main event will begin Oct. 23 at 12pm and feature three day 1s as well as live reporting from the tournament floor throughout its entirety. The final table will be live streamed on cardplayer.com until a winner is crowned.
The event is the final tournament series of Season II of the CPPT and the eventual winner will join the ranks of nine other champions from 2014 including Ronnie Pease (Foxwoods, $91, 347), Austin Lewis (Choctaw, $183,025) and Shan Jing (Bicycle Casino, $135,981).
The tournament series began Oct. 17 with a string of $150 no-limit hold’em tournaments leading up to the grand finale and has awarded over $82,000 in prize money. The CPPT has been the first major tournament series to take place at Hollywood Park since the grounds changed to new management.
“It’s been a success so far and players are excited about having a big tournament here,” said tournament director Corey Silver. “We want to show off all the new cosmetic upgrades and designs.”
