MGM Grand Detroit, the largest in terms of revenue of the three casinos in the city, has agreed to pay $350,000 in fines for misconduct ranging from serving alcohol to gambling minors to “allowing an employee to embezzle close to $700,000,” as the Detroit Free Press put it.

Nearly 43 percent of the fine was for the employee embezzlement.

The employee, since fired, worked in the casino’s credit department, the report stated.

State police are still investigating the embezzlement (alleged embezzlement in the confines of the criminal side of it). The status of possible criminal charges is unclear.

MGM Grand attorney’s reportedly acknowledged all of the violations and said the casino accepts the penalties, adding that the fines were a “fair result.”
