Ultimate Poker, once one of Nevada’s three online poker sites, shut its doors in the Silver State earlier this month. The site was just not making enough money in Nevada’s intrastate market. It also ceased operations in New Jersey.

Real Gaming, a product launched from South Point Hotel & Casino, is trying to bring over former Ultimate Poker players to its software, the firm said in a press release.

It has offered to match any customer’s account balance that they had on Ultimate Poker, up to $3,000 and released incrementally based on play. It can be seen as a bold move to generate traffic to the site.

“While online poker is still new in regulated environments and faces some challenges, we remain dedicated to delivering innovative products and are confident in the success of online poker in the Nevada market,” said Lawrence Vaughan, co-founder of Real Gaming. “We welcome Ultimate Poker’s players and invite all to experience the latest gaming technologies and user-friendly mobile platform at Real Gaming that sets us apart from our competitors.”

Real Gaming’s only competitor in Nevada right now is a WSOP-branded site from Caesars.

In September, Real Gaming announced it reached a deal with 7-Eleven and Family Dollar to allow customers to deposit via those brick-and-mortar locations.
