The state of New Mexico is now pushing the mixing of gambling and the consumption of alcohol beverages.

According to krqe.com, roughly 60 different bars, restaurants, bowling alleys and motels statewide have just recently began letting people play the state-sanctioned “Lucky Numbers” bingo game.

New Mexico is home to many tribal casinos, but state gambling compacts prohibit alcohol on casino floors. The state’s efforts are seen as a way to make gaming more social for a younger demographic.

The New Mexico Lottery hopes it will bring in an extra $1 million in revenue by July.

“We’re trying our very best to stay relevant,” said Linda Hamlin, a spokeswoman for the Lottery.
