The 2015 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $10,300 main event drew a total field of 801 players to build a prize pool of $7,915,200. The top 119 players made the money, but after three full days of action now only 56 players remain to battle it out for the first major main event title of 2015 and the $1,491,580 first-place prize.

Among those still in contention are notable pros like Chance Kornuth (1,165,000), Jim Collopy (889,000), Pratyush Buddiga (589,000) and Jason Mercier (447,000). Perhaps the most exciting player still in with a chance is none other than Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldo, whose 512,000 chip stack puts him inside the top twenty going into day 4.

The 38-year-old is sponsored by PokerStars, but this is his first ever cash in a major live tournament. He and all of his fellow competitors going into the day are guaranteed at least $24,140 already but surely all have their eyes on the title and the nearly $1.5 million top prize.

Ronaldo probably won’t be sweating the prize money too hard, since he has an estimated net worth of more than $150 million, but there’s no doubt the two-time World Cup Champion and three-time FIFA Player of the Year will be gunning for his first major poker accolade.

While this is still a huge event, turnout is down year-over-year, with the 2014 running’s $10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool having drawn 1,031 entrants. This year the tournament did not have a guarantee.
