In late December Noah Schwartz finished fourth from a field of 55 entries in the largest ever World Poker Tour Alpha8 super high roller event for $539,550. Roughly a month later Schwartz topped the tour’s smallest ever field of only six entrants to win the WPT Alpha8 Florida $100,000 super high roller title and the winner-take-all prizepool of $585,000.

Schwartz topped a field that included 2014 Card Player Player of the Year Daniel Colman, Byron Kaverman, Bryn Kenney and Jason Mercier. In the end Schwartz defeated 2014 POY eighth-place finisher Jake Schindler heads-up for the win, sending Schindler to the rail on what amounted to a $585,000 money bubble.

With this win Schwartz became the first player in history to win both a World Poker Tour main event (2012 WPT bestbet Jacksonville) and a WPT Alpha8 title, with both win coming in his home state of Florida.

Schwartz took to Instagram to express his thoughts after the win, saying “What a true blessing & historic at the same time to become the 1st player in history to win @WPT & @alpha8 titles . No one can take that from me . Thanks for all the support it means the world to me.”

In addition to the money he was also awarded the Alpha8 trophy, a gold pair of Monster 24K headphones and a Hublot King Power Unico titanium watch.

This was Schwartz’s seventh career tournament victory, bringing his lifetime live tournament earnings to $5,200,182.
