Action will heat up for the second time as the Card Player Poker Tour begins Season III at one of the most popular poker destinations in the Northeast.
A 13-tournament series at Foxwoods Resort Casino, located on the Pequot Indian Reservation in Mashantucket, Connecticut, will begin Jan. 31 and last until Feb. 9 when the first champion of CPPT Season III is crowned.

Action will get underway with a $600 no-limit hold’em $100,000 guarantee tournament on Jan. 31, followed by a $250 no-limit hold’em $20,000 guarantee Feb. 1. Each tournament on the schedule will include a guaranteed prize pool and options range from no-limit hold’em to Omaha eight-or-better and pot-limit Omaha. The schedule also includes a $250 ladies event and a $250 seniors event.
The $1,650 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event will begin Feb. 7 and feature two starting flights on that day – one at 11 am and another at 5 pm. Players will start with 25,000 in chips and play 40-minute levels for the first 12 levels. On day 2, play will move to one-hour levels and re-entries will be allowed during the two starting flights. The main event will feature tournament updates each day and the final table will be live-streamed in its entirety on CardPlayer.com.
Foxwoods also has plenty of offers to benefit tournament players.
Players participating in any of the tournaments can book rooms at the property’s Two Trees Inn or Great Cedar Hotel for as low as $79 and $119 per night. To book at the Inn, players must use group code #6576. For the Great Cedar Hotel, players must use #5193.
With a player’s card, players can also earn from five to 15 points for playing in the tournaments – $250 event will earn five points, while $300 to $600 events will earn 10 points. Players in the main event will earn 15 points. In the cash games, players will earn $1 for every hour played at the low limits, $1.50 at the middle limits and $2 for every hour at the high-stakes tables.
