World Series Of Poker Unveils 2015 ScheduleSixty Eight Bracelets To Be Awarded This Summer In Las Vegas |

On Monday, the World Series of Poker unveiled the schedule for the 2015 running of poker’s richest and most prestigious tournament series. A total of 68 bracelets will be awarded, three more than in 2014 and the most ever for a single summer in the WSOP’s storied 46-year-old history.
“We feel very good about the 2015 WSOP schedule and appreciate all the feedback and assistance the poker community provided,” WSOP Tournament Director Jack Effel said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see everyone, break some records and award life-changing money beginning May 27.”
The 2015 Series will run until the $10,000 buy-in main event final table is reached on July 14. The full schedule is below, but here are some of the highlights:
The WSOP said that it has “significantly adjusted upward the starting stack for all WSOP events that have a buy-in under $10,000.” For example, $1,000 buy-in events and $1,500 buy-in events now have starting stacks of 5,000 and 7,500, respectively.
Additionally, the WSOP said that many events will have an extra couple levels of play, before a winner is crowned, compared to events in years past.
Like it does every year, the WSOP created some new events. They are:
Event #5: $565 Colossus No-Limit Hold’em with a $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Event #6: $1,000 Hyper No-Limit Hold’em with a fast, two-day structure.
Event #42: $1,500 Extended Play No-Limit Hold’em featuring longer, 90-minute levels.
Event #43: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold’em. Must be age 65+ to enter.
Event #53: $5,000 Turbo No-Limit Hold’em, two-day structure with a high buy-in.
Event #55: $1,500 DraftKings 50/50 No-Limit Hold’em. Half the field to be paid.
Event #60: $25,000 High Roller 8-handed Pot-Limit Omaha. 4-day event.
Event #62: $1,500 Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. Every player is a bounty. Each is worth $500.
Event #65: $777 Lucky 7’s No-Limit Hold’em, featuring a first-ever $777 price point.
Event #67: $10,000 Dealers Choice, featuring 19 variants.
The 11th new bracelet event up for grabs this year is an online bracelet. WSOP.com will offer its first-ever bracelet event on July 2 at noon. This $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em event will be the first-ever WSOP gold bracelet awarded online (the final two players will compete live at the Rio on July 3). More details on this event, including information on online satellites, will be announced shortly but preliminary details can be found here.
The WSOP announced last month the addition of the event called the Colossus, which will feature the low buy-in and huge prize pool. It should break the record for the largest field size in live poker tournament history, which was set in the 2006 main event.
Last week, the WSOP announced that it was changing the payout structure for the main event, which included removing the $10 million guarantee for first place.
