There were a total of 708 entries in 2015 World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $7,500 main event in San Jose, but after three full days of poker action now only six remain to battle it out for the title and the first-place prize of $1,214,200.
Leading the way with over 6.7 million in chips is none other than 2007 Card Player Online Player of the Year Isaac Baron. The 27-year-old poker pro from Menlo Park, California is guaranteed to add at least $168,260 in earnings to his career live tournament cashes of more than $4.4 million.
Despite having over 30% of the chips in play Baron will hardly have a cake walk to the title. Joining him at the six-handed final table are a number of top young pros including 2010 Online Player of the Year Taylor Paur (2nd – 4,270,000), 2014 WSOP Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee main event champ Jacob Bazeley 3rd – (3,920,000), World Poker Tour season VIII player of the year Faraz Jaka (4th – 2,920,000) and Sorel Mizzi (5th – 1,920,000), who will be looking to add to his live tournament earnings of more than $10 million at this final table.
The final six will return at 4:00 PM local time on Friday to play on until the next WPT main event champion is decided.
