No player on Day 1B of the Card Player Poker Tour Wynn Classic main event was able to top Day 1A chipleader Scott Demoulin, who will lead the final 79 players when Day 2 begins.
Demoulin bagged 257,400, and Gary Sewell and Stephen Graner, the second and third largest stacks from Day 1A, were also not surpassed by any player on Day 1B.
Richard Hawes bagged 173,500, Jared Hamby chipped up to 148,900 and Kyle Julius amassed 135,400 when Day 1B came to an end.
Other players returning for Day 2 include Leo Wolpert, Kevin Calenzo, Matt Berkey, Justin Young and Zo Karim.
The $2,100 buy-in tournament exceeded the $300,000 guarantee by more than $180,000, tallying a total prizepool of $481,120. Of the 248 entries, 27 spots will be paid with $111,621 going to the winner.
Annette Obrestad, Eli Elezra, Ben Yu, Keith Ferrera, David Singer, “Miami” John Cernuto and Frank Rusnak were among the players to burn out before the day came to an end.
Jon Eaton was eliminated during the final level of the night when he got his short stack into the middle in a hand with David Randall. Eaton showed A5 but Randall’s 99 held on a K106K3 board.
Play will resume at 12pm Tuesday at Level 11 with blinds at 600-1,200 and a 200 ante.
