Former Poker Pro Dominating On 'Jeopardy'

Alex Jacob Scores Back-To-Back Wins On Show

Former poker pro Alex Jacob is having a great run on the TV show Jeopardy this week. He has won nearly $50,000 in his back-to-back wins, the second of which was dominating.

Jacob, now a currency trader in Chicago, has $2.6 million in career poker tournament earnings. His biggest scores came during the height of the poker boom. Jacob hasn’t had a major tournament score since 2012.

The 30-year-old had a funny moment on his second night on the show. He was so far out ahead in the Final Jeopardy round that he wrote as his answer: “I love you Jenny; thanks for everything mom and dad; hi Seth.” Before Alex Trebek read his answer, Jacob did the motion one makes when pushing all their chips into the middle of the table.

He’s still a poker player, even though he doesn’t play for a living anymore.
