For the first time ever the Card Player Poker Tour will make a stop at Casino Royale in Maho Bay, St. Maarten in conjunction with Card Player Cruises for a 22-tournament series set amid the backdrop of the breathtaking Caribbean.
The series will begin April 24 with a $125 no-limit hold’em tournament and wrap up with a $125 no-limit hold’em survivor on May 3. Other tournaments include $340 pot-limit Omaha, $340 Omaha eight-or-better and many satellites. The schedule also includes a $3,500 high-roller tournament.
The feature event will be the $1,650 no-limit hold’em $200,000 guarantee main event Apr. 30 through May 3. The winner of the main event will be the fifth champion of Season III of the CPPT, joining Fred Paradis (Foxwoods – $81,520), Maxim Sorokin (Wynn – $101,619), Nick Weinberg (Atlantis – $38,625) and Chan Pelton (Choctaw – $130,455).
Players in the main event will begin with 20,000 in starting chips with the option buy an additional 10,000 in chips for $40. Blinds will begin at 100-200 and each starting flight will play 10 50-minute levels. Late registration and re-entry is open until the end of level 8. Players may also relinquish their chip stack and the end of level 8 and re-enter.
