Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay opened its doors on Thursday. It is one of 10 casinos in the state. There’s another Three Rivers Casino Resort in Florence, Oregon.
Unlike the location in Florence, Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay does not have a poker room. It just has slot machines and a restaurant, Card Player was told Thursday.
There are 22 poker rooms in the Portland and Oregon area, according to PokerAtlas.
“Our investment in this facility reflects the Coos, Lower Umpqua, and Siuslaw Indians’ long-term commitment to the local southern Oregon coast community," the manager of Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay reportedly said in an announcement of the opening event. "We believe in this community and we want to build and maintain a positive partnership with everyone here.”
According to a study by RubinBrown’s Gaming Services Group, the Portland region had a gambling market worth $2.88 billion last year. There were 49 gambling facilities.
