The $1,500 limit hold’em event at the 2015 World Series of Poker drew a field of 660 players, creating an $891,000 prize pool. After three days of action, it was 38-year-old real estate broker and healthcare professional William Kakon who emerged with the victory, the $196,055 first-place prize and his first gold bracelet.

Kakon, who was born in Morocco but now resides in Miami, Florida, specifically sought out this tournament when planning his poker vacation.

“I’m very familiar with this game, so I really do feel comfortable playing it,” Kakon said. “It’s harder to find now in casinos, so I try to make an effort to [play them at the WSOP.] I’m a very competitive person. If it’s business or poker, I just play to win all the time."

The event featured a modest three-player increase over last year’s numbers and is one of only three limit hold’em tournaments on the summer schedule.

Other notables who finished in they money included Joe Kuether (63rd), Ian Johns (58th), Matt Glantz (37th), Jeff Shulman (29th), David Chiu (14th), Alexander Kostritsyn (9th), Brandon Cantu (7th), Kevin Song (6th) and Shannon Shorr (5th).
