The $5,000 buy-in eight-handed no-limit hold’em event at the 2015 World Series of Poker always features some of the best players in the game today and the final table was no exception.

Notables such as Dan O’Brien (8th), Anthony Zinno (7th), Jonathan Little (6th), Jonathan Jaffe (4th), Dominik Nitsche (3rd) and Pierre Milan (2nd) all had a good chance at claiming victory, but it was 51-year-old high school teacher and football coach Jeffrey Tomlinson that came out on top, earning his first WSOP bracelet and the $567,724 first-place prize.

Tomlinson, who is originally from Philadelphia but now teaches in Jupiter, Florida, wasn’t exactly a beginner to poker. His first WSOP cash was back in 2008, but he crushed his previous career best cash of $8,033 with this win.

“Before the final table started, one of my buddies told me – ‘do you know that guy?’ He won a few bracelets. That one of there? He wrote a poker book,” Tomlinson said. “Me? Hey, I’m a football coach. I don’t have any fear. I mean, I’m here to play my game. It doesn’t mean I’ll win ten gold bracelets, but from the moment I sat down I knew I could win.”

A total of 493 player entered the event, creating a total prize pool of $2,317,100. The final table featured two WSOP bracelet winners in Milan and Nitsche. Zinno, who is currently leading the Card Player Player of the Year race, added another 360 points to his lead. He now leads by nearly 1,900 points after making his seventh final table of the year.

Here is a look at the final table results.
