A leading gaming company in China has agreed to buy the World Poker Tour from bwin.party digital entertainment for $35 million in cash, the WPT said in a statement on Sunday.

The two groups have worked together previously for WPT National China at MGM Grand Sanya Resort. Ourgame, headquartered in Beijing, is a $700 million company.

“Having already established an exciting partnership with Ourgame, a high growth company led by an enthusiastic group that is fully invested in the global growth of the sport of poker, we are delighted to now become a fully-integrated member of the Ourgame family,” WPT President Adam Pliska said. “I want to thank bwin.party CEO Norbert Teufelberger and bwin.party CFO Martin Weigold for all of their support over the last six years, and for helping facilitate this agreement.”

Bwin.party bought the WPT in 2009 for $12.3 million.

Since that deal, the WPT has more than quadrupled its live tournaments.

Last year, it was reported that bwin.party could be on the market. Amaya Gaming, owner of the PokerStars brand, has been rumored to be interested in acquiring the firm.

Bwin.party currently offers online gaming in New Jersey.
