Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas made it’s final stop of the Card Player Poker Tour Caribbean Cruise in St. Maarten early on the morning of Sept. 9.

The island is the world’s smallest landmass governed by two nations, France to the north and the Netherlands to the south, and relies on tourism as its major industry.

The ship docked in Philipsburg, the Dutch capital, and passengers made their way to the main boardwalk via water taxi, taking in panoramic views of Great Bay during the quick trip across the water.

Cruisers could chose to sit down to a Caribbean-style meal or grab a cold drink at one of the many beach-front restaurants, or make their way straight to the sand and lounge in an umbrella-shaded beach chair.

A quick walk to the main road took those looking for great bargains to the colorful open-air market on Front Street. More adventurous passengers could chose to take a dip in the clear, blue waters or hop on a jet-ski for some afternoon fun.

St. Maarten’s famous Maho Bay, where incoming planes pass over the top of beach-goers as they land at Princess Juliana International Airport is a short taxi ride from the port, giving passengers a chance to see one of the most photographed spots on the island.

The island is also the site of Card Player Cruises land-based event, which is another stop on the CPPT. In May of 2016, the CPPT and Card Player Cruises will return to St. Maarten for a tournament series at Casino Royale.
