Nevada Poker Rooms Collect $8.5 Million In August

Fewer Poker Rooms Mean Less Revenue In August 2015

Poker rooms across the state of Nevada collected $8,510,000 in revenue during the month of August, according to information released Wednesday by Silver State gaming regulators.

The amount was a 5.53-percent decrease compared to August 2014. There were 68 poker rooms with a combined 667 tables during August 2015. There were 76 poker rooms with a combined 784 tables in August 2014.

Revenue per table was $11,490 in August 2014, compared to $12,759 this August.

Revenue from online poker is included in the figures.

Both June and July, which are the months when the annual World Series of Poker is running, had revenue increases year-over-year.

Statewide poker revenue in Nevada for calendar year 2014 was $119,904,000, down from $123,891,000 in 2013. The revenue in 2013 was the first increase year-over-year since 2007. The last time Nevada’s poker revenue was below $120 million was in 2004, when revenue from the game was $98.8 million. The year 2007 has the record of just under $168 million.
