A total of 580 players put up the €1,650 buy-in at the 2015 World Series of Poker Europe Monster Stack event, creating a total prize pool of €843,900, or $962,932. The top 63 players made the money, earning a minimum payout of €2,785. The eventual winer, Ryan Hefter, took home €176,205 and his first career bracelet.
Hefter, an American amateur poker player from New York who is currently living in Poland, decided on coming to Berlin to just play a couple tournaments for fun.
“I can’t even put into words how I feel right now,” he said. “I work, so I don’t have time to tour the circuits.”
Notables who cashed in the tournament included Asi Moshe (63rd), Igor Yaroshevskyy (50th), Noah Bronstein (46th), Sam Chartier (45th), Andy Black (36th), Simon Deadman (16th), Stefan Jedlicka (10th) and David Peters (9th).
