Confessed Borgata tournament cheat Christian Lusardi was officially given five years in prison on Thursday for making counterfeit chips and putting them into a tournament last year in order to gain an advantage over the field.

Lusardi took a plea deal in August that allowed him to avoid a possible 15-year sentence. The plea deal also resulted in a $463,540 fine for Lusardi, which is the amount that Borgata lost after canceling the tournament.

The 43-year-old admitted to counterfeiting and criminal mischief.

He must also pay $9,455 to Harrah’s Casino Hotel for damaging its pipes when he tried to flush the chips down the toilet after his scheme was uncovered.

Lusardi cashed for $6,814 in the tournament.

In April, Lusardi was sentenced to five years in prison in a separate case involving pirated DVDs. He must pay $1.1 million in fines from that.
