In 2008 Card Player TV was granted behind-the-scenes access to one of the most high stakes poker games in the world at the time, a regular seven card stud game hosted by Larry Flynt at his Hustler Casino in Los Angeles.

Over the years poker legends like Phil Ivey, Barry Greenstein, Chip Reese, Doyle Brunson, Ted Forrest, John Hennigan and many others have taken part in this gigantic game.

The stakes had been as high as $4,000 – $8,000 fixed limit in the game, although at the time $2,000 – $4,000 was more common.

“I could never play a slot machine or $10 blackjack,” said Flynt in regards to why he likes to play so high. “You gotta have that rush. You’ve gotta be playing for something that’s important. I think that a thing that’s given me an edge is that I’m fortunate to have money, so if I lose $200,000 or $300,000 in a night and it wouldn’t mean anything to me.”
