The holidays are upon us, and with them come the many forms of holiday lists. For thanksgiving many might enumerate the people and things that they feel appreciative of. Many parents around the country will then be receiving wish lists from their children, who weeks away from Christmas are already eagerly anticipating opening their presents.
As a poker player there is one other kind of list that you should be aware of: a preflop checklist of things to consider before you decide how to play your hand.
In this edition of Card Player TV classics we bring you a video interview about preflop checklists with Mike “Timex” McDonald, a 26-year-old poker pro from Canada who has accumulated more than $12.4 million in tournament earnings in his young career.
Not only does McDonald have 10 huge titles to his name and five seven-figure tournaments scores under his belt, he also has worked with some of the WSOP November Nine in recent years to help prepare them for the biggest final table of the year, including 2011 champion Pius Heinz.
In the interview McDonald shares his thoughts on the key factors you should take into account before choosing how you approach a hand in a no-limit hold’em poker tournament. Check out the video below:
