Draftpot: NFL Playoffs Daily Fantasy Sports PlaysHere's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert |
|
The NFL Playoffs are here, but the DFS doesn’t stop. This week on Draftpot, I’m going to look at some value plays that could help free up some salary cap room for you to fit in the top plays like Antonio Brown and A.J. Green.
Finding solid value plays can be much more difficult on a four-game slate as opposed to when you have the entire league to choose from, so you have to weigh whether or not the risk works for you.
As always, the ‘salaries’ listed will be in terms of Draftpot Points Per Game (DPPG).

QB
A.J. McCarron (8.18 DPPG) – While McCarron is unlikely to light up the scoreboard, he has been serviceable from both a real life and fantasy football standpoint in the four games he’s been the primary quarterback for the Bengals. While the cheap players at other positions run the risk of not seeing a ton of opportunity at all, we know McCarron will have some chances to be productive. In week 14 against the Steelers, he managed 280 yards and two touchdowns. With an eye on some of the pricier players to want this weekend in DFS, McCarron could be the key on Draftpot.
RB
Fitzgerald Toussaint (4.00 DPPG) – Wait, who? Fitzgerald Toussaint, apparently. Deangelo Williams suffered an injury during last Sunday’s win over the Browns and was in a walking boot as recently as Wednesday, causing him to miss practice. In that win last week over the Browns, Toussaint was the only other running back to receive a carry. So while Jordan Todman lingers on the roster as a potential running back who could see some work, Toussaint is the heavy favorite to take over the lead role, making him a very good value on Draftpot.
WR
James Jones (11.94 DPPG) – James Jones can be very hard to trust in fantasy. However, he seems to have clearly taken over as the Packers number one receiver down the stretch of the season. Over the last four weeks, Jones received target totals of 7, 9, 11 and 13 on snap counts of 94%, 79%, 92% and 100%. Those numbers, combined with Aaron Rodgers being the quarterback, are numbers of a receiver that figures to eclipse his 11.94 DPPG price tag by a good margin. Throw in his redzone prowess, and Jones is a nice value this week.
TE
Heath Miller (8.42 DPPG) – Miller is one of those extremely boring fantasy plays that can pay dividends for your team. While he’s not what he once was, he can still get it done if given the opportunity. In the week 14 matchup with the Bengals, Miller hauled in 10 receptions, albeit for only 66 yards. If you’re playing cash games on Draftpot this week, it could be a solid move to pair Miller with Antonio Brown in the hopes of picking up some of Ben’s dumpoff passes to Miller if Brown were to struggle. Another super cheap tight end option to look at this week is Cooper Helfet, but only if Luke Willson isn’t able to return from his concussion.
