For over a decade now the PokerStars Sunday Million has stood as the gold standard of weekly online poker tournaments. The $215 buy-in sports a $1 million guaranteed prize pool each week and as a result has been a staple of online tournament grinders’ schedules for the past ten years.

Over the weekend PokerStars hosted a special 10th Anniversary Sunday Million with a massive $10 million guarantee to celebrate the event’s continued success.

A total of 55,059 entries were made, with 45,353 unique players and 9,706 re-entries, easily surpassing the guarantee to build a prize pool of $11,011,800. This was the third-largest prize pool in the event’s history, although that fact should be taken with a grain of salt because the event doesn’t normally allow re-entry.

It took almost 16 hours to narrow that massive turnout down to a champion, with ‘a.urli’ emerging victorious in the end. For the win the Canadian earned $970,000, after making a four-way prize pool redistribution deal that locked up $870,000 for ‘a.urli’, who had the chiplead at the time, and left $100,000 and the title to play for.

‘a.urli’ was only in the tournament for a single $215 buy-in, which means that they got roughly 4,500 times the money they put in back!

Here is a look at the payouts awarded at this final table:

1. a.urli (Canada) $970,000.00*
2. mladenova62 (Bulgaria) $650,000.00*
3. prophetdream (South Korea) $678.517.78*
4. canario508 (Argentina) $560,000.00*
5. ThreeBetting (United Kingdom) $318,415.00
6. Superfizzy (Germany) $235,653.62
7. AttiIa88 (Russia) $174,402.68
8. TottiLitti (Finland) $129,071.51
9. Torsvik (Norway) $95,522.96

  • = indicates a four-way deal that left $100,000 to go to the eventual champion.
