The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida is kicking into top gear this week, with several massive tournaments awarding titles and massive payouts over the coming days. The first huge event to reach it’s business end is the 2016 World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown $3,500 buy-in no-limit hold’em main event. The tournament drew a total of 1,222 total entries to build a total prize pool of $3,910,400.

From that massive sea of entries now only 10 players remain to battle it out for the penultimate WPT open-event title of the year and the first-place prize of $669,161.

Hyoung Chae is the chip leader heading into the final day with 6,225,000, which is good for 104 big blinds when he returns to betting limits of 30,000 – 60,000 with an ante of 10,000.

Cate HallThere are several recognizable names remaining among the final ten including 2016 WPT L.A. Poker Classic fourth-place finisher Sam Soverel (4,715,000), 2008 WPT Five Diamond runner-up Justin Young (3,660,000), 2014 WPT Five Diamond runner-up Garett Greer (2,035,000) and current WPT Player of the Year contender Cate Hall (1,140,000).

Hall has cashed six times this season on the WPT including a 41st-place finish in the WPT SHR Poker Finale here in Florida this week. Along the way she made two final table appearances, and now if she were to finish in the top three in this event she would overtake the lead in the tour’s POY race. The current leader is Mike Shariati, who finished 21st in this very event, second in the WPT L.A. Poker Classic main event and won the WPT Legends of Poker main event at the Bicycle all during the span of season 14.

The final ten will return to play down to a winner at 11:00 AM ET on Wednesday, Apr. 20.
