The first starting day of the Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event feature fast-paced action from a starting field of 107. After 14 levels of play on Friday, 30 runners remained.
The $1,100 re-entry tournament with a $200,000 guaranteed, set to run over four days, will have its second starting day on Saturday, June 25 at noon local time. Single-table satellites at the $140 and $250 buy-in levels will run Saturday prior to the close of registration.
This is the fourth year in a row that the CPPT has traveled to Jacksonville. Notable players in attendance on Friday were Harvey Vandeven, the 2013 CPPT bestbet Jacksonville champion, former WPT champion Nabil Hirezi, Miami poker pro Erik Christensen, Willie Lawrence, who made the final table last year, 2013 CPPT bestbet finalist Edward Mroczkowski, Gainesville-based Toby Boas and Tallahassee’s Jared Reinstein.
Players began the day with 25,000 in chips and blinds at 100-200. When play concluded for the evening at level 14 the stakes were 1,200-2,400 with a 400-chip ante. Level 15, which the players will begin on day 2, is 1,500-3,000 with a 500-chip ante.
Below are chip counts for the end of day 1A. The chip leaders after day 1A and day 1B both receive a $1,500 bonus, which is deducted from the prize pool.
