After state officials late last month gave it the go-ahead in a legal battle with the neighboring city of Somerville, the upcoming Wynn Boston Harbor is now officially under construction.

Steve Wynn’s casino company held a kick-off event on Thursday, Boston.com reported. Roughly 150 of the 4,000 construction workers that will be involved with the project were there for what was essentially the groundbreaking on the $2.1 billion casino. Some pre-construction work had already been completed months ago.

The casino’s opening is planned for June 2019, and the casino operator said that it expects no additional delays from here on out. Before getting around the Somerville opposition, Wynn Resorts had to resolve a dispute with Boston.

The report said that Somerville isn’t going to ask the state to reconsider the environmental permit that Wynn received.

Previously Wynn Everett, the casino operator announced in March that it will be called Wynn Boston Harbor. The company also said the price tag was increasing by about $400 million.

It took nearly two years after the Massachusetts Gaming Commission awarded it a gaming license for the project to resolve its opposition from Boston and Somerville.
