New Jersey online gaming win was $16.1 million in August, state gaming regulators said Thursday. The revenue was 31.6-percent more than August 2015’s $12.2 million.
Of the $16 million, about $13.9 million came from the house-banked games, while $2.17 million came from peer-to-peer poker. Revenue from online poker was up from $1.98 million a year prior, reflecting an increase of 9.6 percent.
Year-to-date online gaming win for the casinos was $128.3 million through August, up 32.6 percent from $96.7 million during the same period last year. New Jersey online casinos won nearly $150 million in 2015.
About $17.9 million year-to-date from online poker is 10.7-percent more than the $16.2 million raked in the first eight months of 2015.
A recent Rutgers University study showed that the top 10 percent of New Jersey online gamblers wagered about half of the $3 billion in total bets in 2015, which gave the state more than 90 percent of the regulated American market.
