Registration is officially closed in the 2016 Card Player Poker Tour Seneca Fall Poker Classic $1,000 no-limit hold’em main event. With a total turnout of 300 entries the prize pool easily surpassed the $200,000 guarantee, growing to $264,810. The top 27 players will make the money in this event, with a min-cash of $2,013 and a first-place prize of $64,882. The eventual champion of this event will not only win the top prize and the trophy, they will also grace the cover of an upcoming issue of Card Player magazine!
Day 1A of the event drew 121 entries, with 24 players surviving to day 2. Day 1B saw 179 total entries, with 33 players making it through to the next stage. The overall chip leader heading into day 2 is Jeffrey Hobrecker with 437,500. Close behind is day 1A chip leader Alex Visbisky with 434,000. Defending champion of the Seneca Fall Classic Kurtis Boutelle ended day 1B with 281,000 in chips, good enough for a top-ten stack heading into day 2. Boutelle topped a field of 291 entries in 2015 to win $62,933.
