2016 World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic Series Preview

Series Runs From Nov. 25 - Dec. 10 With Several Massive Tournaments On Offer

The final World Poker Tour tournament series of 2016 kicked off the day after Thanksgiving at the Bellagio Poker Room in Las Vegas. The 16-event series is set to run from Nov. 25 – Dec. 5 and will play host to several huge events, including the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic $10,400 no-limit hold’em main event which kicks off at noon local time on Dec. 5 and continues until a champion is decided on Dec. 10 at the televised final table.

In 2015 a total of 639 players turned out for this event, the second largest field in the tournament’s 140year-history. In the end Kevin Eyster emerged victorious, capturing his second WPT title and the first-place prize of $1,587,382.

Kevin EysterEyster topped a tough final table on his way to securing the win, outlasting the likes of Ben Yu (3rd – $607,433), Jake Schwartz (4th – $412,187) and Cate Hall (5th – $291,320).

In addition to the main event the series will also host two $25,000 buy-in high roller events on Dec. 8 and 9, each set to play out over the course of a single day. A two-day $100,000 buy-in super high roller event will get underway on Dec. 10.

In 2015 the super high roller drew 45 entries to build a $4,414,500 prize pool. German superstar Fedor Holz came out on top to win $1,589,219.
