Wynn To Follow MGM, Caesars In Las Vegas Paid Parking ModelThird Major Casino Operator Announces Upcoming Changes |

Following in the footsteps of rivals MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment, Wynn Resorts said this week that it will soon begin charging for parking.
The casino operator made the announcement Wednesday, a day after Caesars made its plan public. Unlike MGM and Caesars, Wynn will only be charging for valet and not self-park, at least not for the time being.
Guests will have to pay for valet at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore starting in mid-December. “Self-parking remains free of charge at this time," the company said.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Sands doesn’t have plans to charge for any parking. Same goes for Station Casinos and Boyd Gaming, which both focus on the locals market.
Caesars’ plan for paid self-parking doesn’t include the Rio, which is home to the annual World Series of Poker during June and part of July. MGM kicked off paid parking in June.
The two parking announcements came the same week that Las Vegas casinos reported gaming win of $562.7 million in October, up 14 percent year-over-year.
Over the past 12 months (11/01/15 to 10/31/16), the casinos in Las Vegas won $6.4 billion from gamblers, up two percent from the same period a year prior. Statewide gaming win of just over $11 billion has been nearly flat over the past two calendar years.
