Casinos in the state of Mississippi won $174 million from gamblers during November, which was an increase of 7.2 percent year-over-year, according to figures from state gaming regulators.
The year-over-year gain was the largest since January, when the $177.5 million in gaming win was an increase of 7.6 percent compared to January 2015, according to data compiled by the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
The only commercial casino states that had better performances in October in terms of year-over-year gain were Nevada (11 percent), West Virginia (11.5 percent) and Delaware (14.3 percent).
Through the first 10 months of 2016, Mississippi casinos won nearly $1.8 billion from gamblers, an increase of 1.57 percent compared to the same period a year prior.
Mississippi is the sixth largest commercial casino market in America, trailing Nevada, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Illinois and New Jersey.
Mississippi has 89 poker tables, spread between eight poker rooms. There are nearly 30 casinos statewide.
