Major Vote Coming For Japan's Casino PlansCasinos Expected To Be Legalized This Week |

The Japanese Parliament is expected to give full approval to a casino bill on Wednesday.
According to Bloomberg, an upper house committee approved the plan late Tuesday, in what was one of the final steps for the legislation that has been debated for four years now. The proposal advanced out of Parliament’s lower house earlier this month.
The bill to legalize the casinos doesn’t contain all the details for how the new industry would be regulated, so that will come in additional legislation.
A potential $40 billion a year gambling market is at stake, and some of the most powerful casino developers in the world, including Las Vegas Sands and MGM Resorts International, want to build there.
Tokyo and Osaka are two leading candidates for the Las Vegas-style resorts.
