The L.A. Poker Classic is set to kick off later this month in Los Angeles, and the Commerce Casino has already put $350,000 in guarantees on the line for the opening weekend festivities.
The action begins Jan. 13 with a $100,000 guaranteed no-limit hold’em tournament, featuring a $175 buy-in and a double-sized starting stack of 10,000 in chips. On Jan. 14, a $570 buy-in event begins, boasting a $150,000 guarantee. The weekend wraps up Jan. 15 with a $350 buy-in, $100,000 guarantee knockout bounty tournament.
With 60 events scheduled, the 2017 L.A. Poker Classic is guaranteed to be one of the biggest poker festivals of the year and will also include a $10,000 World Poker Tour main event.
There are numerous options for players of all bankroll sizes with buy-ins ranging from as little as $75 up to the $25,000 high roller event. The games being spread are even more varied, including no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, stud eight-or-better, H.O.R.S.E., limit hold’em, stud, triple draw, 2-7 single draw, dealer’s choice and more.

This year, the Commerce will award two $10,000 seats into the WPT main event in special freerolls for the players. There is absolutely no obligation to the players, anyone 21 years or older can simply show up on Feb. 3 or 12 to try and win their seat.
There will also be a $30,000 added, Player of the Series freeroll that will award three additional seats as well as cash prizes. The top 100 points earners will compete, with more points being equal to more starting chips. Qualifying starts opening weekend.
