The poker world is returning to the Bahamas in January once again in 2017, but this time the massive poker festival will not be known as the “PokersStars Caribbean Adventure” or the “PCA” but instead is the first-ever PokerStars Championship Bahamas.
PokerStars is rebranding it’s live poker tour’s in 2017, combining some of the best events from various tours under the streamlined PokerStars Championship banner.
The new-look tournament festival will once again be hosted at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas, and as before will see a huge slate of tournaments take place over a nine-day span in the Caribbean.
The series will run from Jan. 6-14 and will play host to several marquee events including a PokerStars Championship $100,000 super high roller (Jan. 6-8), a $50,000 single-day high roller (Jan. 9), a $25,000 pot-limit Omaha high roller (Jan. 10-11) and the $25,000 PokerStars Championship no-limit hold’em high roller (Jan. 12-14).
Of course the centerpiece of the whole affair is the $5,300 PokerStars Championship no-limit hold’em main event which runs from Jan. 8-14. Last year the main event, under the PCA title, drew a field of 928 entries to create a $4,500,800 prize pool. In the end poker pro Mike Watson emerged victorious, capturing the title and the top prize of $728,325.
