The Card Player Poker Tour has ventured to the Gulf Coast for its inaugural stop at the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville, Mississippi. The series runs from Aug. 2-13 at the 68,000-sq. ft. casino, which opened in December of 2015.
There are 14 events on the schedule, with games including no-limit hold’em, stud eight-or-better and pot-limit Omaha. The tournament structures also vary, offering win-the-button, turbo, survivor, ante only, double shootout and seniors events.
The highlight of the series is undoubtedly The Big Slicks $100K Poker Classic: a $360 buy-in main event which boasts a $100,000 guarantee. The four-day event has five starting flights beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, August 11 and at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12.
Those who want to get into the main event at a discounted price can do so with five satellites spread throughout the series. These $70 tournaments award a main event seat for ever eight entries.
A complimentary player dinner buffet will be available in the Big Slicks Poker Room Saturday, Aug. 5 and 12, at 6:30 p.m.
