Pierre Delamare has won the third annual Card Player Poker St. Maarten $1,100 no-limit hold’em main event. The $100,000 guaranteed tournament, hosted by Card Player Cruises at the Casino Royale in beautiful Maho Bay drew a field of 121 total entries to easily surpass the promised prize pool.
For the win Delamare was awarded the first-place prize of $32,863 and 264 Card Player Player of the Year points.
This was Delamare’s second recorded live tournament score, with his first being a third-place finish in a $220 pot-limit Omaha event at the 2014 WPT Caribbean festival.
Delamare defeated Adam White heads-up for the title.
This was White’s second final table of the series, having won a $235 buy-in no-limit hold’em event just a few days earlier for $2,501. The Tempe, AZ resident now has more than $800,000 in lifetime live tournament earnings.
Fourth-place finisher Douglas Paulson also won a side event, as he joined Card Player’s own Barry Shulman and Allyn Shulman and three other players in the winner’s circle in the $150 no-limit hold’em $25 bounty survivor event. Allyn Shulman is third on the CPPT all-time money list with $332,579.
The top 15 finishers made the money in this event, with a minimum payday of $1,981.
This was the first year that 2015 champion and 2016 runner-up Enrici Christophe failed to make the money in this event.
