This is an odd one.
Caesars Entertainment’s Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip has been sued over a life-sized mannequin used as decoration in one of its hotel rooms. A gambler said he suffered injuries after he saw it in his darkened room, got frightened and ran away, Courthouse News Service reports.
The incident happened in 2015, according to the lawsuit filed on May 15.
The mannequin was in a glass case and wearing a Miller Lite racing suit, but the man claims he wasn’t able to tell upon entering the hotel room. He wants at least $10,000 in damages for his bodily injuries. Specifics on the injuries weren’t mentioned in the suit.
The injuries were described as to his “body, limbs, organs and nervous system.”
“The presence of a life-sized human figure in a darkened room was a dangerous and/or hazardous condition,” the lawsuit claims. The suit also says he wasn’t warned of the mannequin.
Caesars issued a statement to news3lv.com: “While we do not comment on pending litigation, historically many of the Planet Hollywood rooms were decorated with memorabilia which has been removed during a $125 million full modernization and renovation of all 2,496 rooms.”
