The poker room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, just 25 miles north of Miami, is on the move.
The casino announced Monday that the property’s ballroom is set to be the new venue for its poker offerings, which includes 36 cash game tables. The poker room was closed Tuesday and Wednesday in order to make the transition, the casino said.
The ballrooms have been host to major poker tournament stops at the casino.
The poker room will reopen Thursday, June 1. The move is said to give poker players easy access to the tables, as the new room will be a convenient walk from the Seminole Way parking garage. The reason for the move is due to the ongoing expansion of the property, which includes adding in new dining and nightclub options.
According to a report from the Miami Herald, the last time the poker room at the casino, also known as Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, was relocated was in 2008, when the casino began offering blackjack thanks to a compact with the state.
Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood’s poker room is one of a dozen in the area.
